In a world where everything is traded: stock, land, people, food and water trade is survival and survival is trade.
This story is based on the life of a woman in rural South Australia who was traded to save a reputation and forced to live a life bound by the ways of the land. Finding love and freedom from the community and the life she was bound to. When an out-of-town individual changes her life for better or worse.
We acknowledge the Kaurna people as the traditional custodians of the Adelaide region in which Holden Street Theatres is located, and we recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to all Elders past, present and emerging and we acknowledge that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to the living Kaurna people today.
